FWF funded dissertation project
This FWF-funded project examines the intertextual relation of the book of Job to the Priestly strand in the Pentateuch. Taking an approach that interprets intertextual links between the two texts from diachronic (historical) and synchronic (modern readers’) perspectives, this study not only sheds light on the question of the role that Priestly literature may have played in the formation of the book of Job and its theology (or vice versa) but also demonstrates how a synchronic reading can enrichen their interpretations.
